Donations of Funds and Volunteer Time

The School Board election of May 2006 resulted in a current board majority (4-3) that has proven to be dysfunctional and detrimental to improving the education of Perry Township students. The board majority efforts since that election have resulted in no new educational programs, the dismissal of a respected Superintendent, the spending in excess of $800,000 in taxpayers tax dollars on non-educational issues that they created, the loss of numerous educational leaders due directly to the lack of leadership at the board level, and the complete elimination of community input into the school board process.

The citizens of Perry Township cannot allow this majority to continue to control our educational process; therefore, the May 2008 school board election MUST result in returning the board majority to those whose convictions will prioritize students and community input and not specific agendas or vendettas.

Take Back Perry Schools (TBPS) is a grass roots citizens group supporting a slate of candidates who have these convictions and the desire to serve their community. They are Chuck Mercer, Ken Mertz, and Gwen Freeman. These folks have been endorsed by the Perry Township firefighters and the teachers of the Perry Township School Corporation and are well qualified to rebuild trust and restore pride in our schools. We need your help to restore the community’s trust and pride in our school’s leaders and this extremely important school board campaign will be the vehicle through which the necessary school board changes become a reality. Your participation is very important in making this happen! You can help in two ways: Checks of any amount can be made payable to TBPS SBC PAC and should be mailed to Chuck Stumpf 4755 Moss Lane, Indpls. 46237. Second, you can volunteer to assist with the details of the campaign by contacting Nancy Speedy at 691-7157 or 786-9521 and she will assist you in finding a location where you can donate your time to the campaign.
